The Scottish Biomolecules Club was established in 1993, and has since built up a membership of over 600 individuals from approximately 150 organisations. All sectors of the biotechnology field - private sector, public sector and academia - in Scotland are represented. The club, which is free to join, stimulates the development of the Scottish Biotechnology Cluster by providing:

  Networking opportunities within the Scottish biotechnology community

  An informal academic/industry interface

  A forum for discussion of common problems and opportunities in the field

The club's main activity is to hold an informal meetings with presentations from experts in a field chosen by members. There are usually three speakers, each talking for approximately 20 minutes, followed by a buffet supper and ample time for further discussion on a one-to-one basis.

  Developing Partnerships with Overseas Organisations

The session runs from October to June with sessions usually being held on the first Tuesday evening of the month. Any person in Scotland who has a professional interest in biotechnology is welcome to attend these meetings.
