Scottish Enterprise Biotechnology Group

The Scottish Enterprise Biotechnology Group was set up to act as a catalyst for the emerging biotech sector and its aims are to:

Improve the commercial application of research.
Increase the number of sustainable start up companies in Scotland
 Increase companies' capability for growth.
Strengthen Scotland's Biotechnology cluster through joint ventures, investment, development of export links and improving support infrastructure.

The Biotechnology Group is made up of technologists with bio-industry experience, and, as well as offering every day business development expertise, the Group works alongside Scottish Trade International and Locate in Scotland to help internationalise the Scottish biotechnology industry through trade missions, exhibitions and seminars.

The Group also works closely with each of the 13 local enterprise companies to ensure business development opportunities throughout the industry are exploited to their full potential.
